Xojo Spam?

Congrats to Matt for getting the Xojo drink company to use his SimScript product.

http://xojo.us

What on earth is that site you just posted the link to???
I typed some random text into the data text area, and it just appeared underneath?

I think they sell energy drinks.

Why on earth would Xojo, Inc. not register every xojo. something domain to protect their brand?

This is Matt’s registered domain (xojo.us).

Mike - I think the drinks company existed first?

Does Matt sell drinks

I know. He told us he sold it to the energy drink company and was going to “transfer it by Monday” several weeks ago.

Our favorite Xojo has two registered trademarks:

http://www.trademarkia.com/trademarks-search.aspx?tn=xojo

And Geoff said I could use XojoDevSpot AFTER I was given permission to use RealDevSpot (before the name change…just like XDS [Xojo Developer’s Spot] and RSDS [Real Studio Developer’s Spot] have namespaces reserved in the WebSDK). The channels of communication exist and happen where and when needed, and I don’t have to explain to any developer. If Xojo days it’s okay, then let it go. So I don’t see where the issue lies. @Norman Palardy or @Dana Brown can you lock this thread? Opinions are like @$$%׀%s, everyone has one. But we’re not here for opinions. We’re here to develop, unless otherwise stated, and help one another. This thread was answered by the second post. Two cents only follow thereafter…Another great thread to drive more Xojo customers away. New customers don’t want to see poster-child professionals acting like children. Ediquette people. Half of the violations appear in this single post. Xojo is falling apart since the name change.

And actually for anyone who missed the domain transfer thread, Xojo Drink’s has legal ownership of xojo.us. Whois don’t magically update over-night… should be soon though, almost been 30 days.

And yes Richard Xojo Drinks has been around for a while.

That is up to the companies to worry about in terms of trademark/copyright infringement. I am just surprised that Xojo didn’t register Xojo.us, xojo.co, etc…

Did Domain ownership transfer event happened (past tense)

I did edit my post as you corrected that.

I think we posted at the same time

What I meant is: you asked why our Xojo didn’t buy all the domain names, so I replied by saying it couldn’t because the drinks company already existed, thus one of the names would have been taken

Hope that made it clearer

I like how the Xojo.us domain is so valuable to the energy drink company that they are advertising Matt’s product on it. And they run the same Xojo Web Edition app on port 9000 as he has been running since this first came to everyone’s attention!

Nope. They filed for their trademark two months after our favorite Xojo and never owned xojo.us. See my list of registered trademarks linked above.

Cool

It seems that a while back here everything turns rough discussion here in this community.

It soon calms down again (until the next time).

And just like that, the main site and port 9000 are shuttered. I caught a screen grab if anyone needs it. I still wonder why an esteemed member of our community would transfer a $10 domain to an energy drink company. Seems weird.
