Will the grid have modern macOS scrollbars and selection (the round one)?
Windows 10+ has lots of new (and animated) controls in the so called Win UI 3. The problem is, I believe it will kill the compatibility with Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.
@Kem_Tekinay, @Christian_Schmitz,
Thank you so much for covering the event here!
Will the new Grid control have smooth scrolling? If not, don’t bother adding it.
I think each developer will choose if he (she) wants or not implement this new feature in his (her) softwares depending of the smooth scrolling or anything else.
I guess you decide for all of us then?
When Geoff mentioned the Grid in 2021 the first time, I did myself one for the time being using NSScrollViewMBS on macOS for smooth scrolling.
Getting back on track, I’m going to start a new conversation soon for day 2.
I know. This is based on NSCollectionViewControlMBS which is an awesome control to have for sure. Thank you for this.
What? Did Geoff say how they based their grid off?
In MBS Xojo Plugins we have the Container List example using NSScrollViewMBS and a separate example for NSCollectionViewControlMBS.
No, I was talking about your control.
EDIT: Sorry … my bad. I was talking about NSCollectionView. Not Container List.
The thing with smooth scrolling of containers in a list is the issue of how to handle partially visible active controls…
Maybe they are not enabled if not fully visible?

It would be slick to have integration with Git hosting providers - generic enough that it would work with GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, self hosted, etc.
All the young folks must be sitting in the back…
Some of us still feel young, does that count?
Besides, birthdays must be good for your health. I’ve heard it said that statistics show that the people that live the longest, have the most birthdays.
Don’t forget all the women in the back.
Or Chay wanted to point out Xojo is not popular (or known) amongst youngsters. Which is not good btw
Or young people saw the photos in previous meeting and told to themselves: I won’t go to the conference, there are only old guys.
For all Xojo conferences we have the same problem.
The people, who can afford to come to conferences, are the more older developers. And developers are somewhere 80 to 90% male.
Young 30 year old developers don’t necessary spend 1000s of $ to come to a conference. They prefer to just watch the videos.
I tried before with free tickets for young developers, but that is still not convincing for them to join.
I was in the back, but I guess that just makes me young at heart.
