Problems with DigitalRiver/MyCommerce

Forgive me if this isn’t the proper forum, but has anyone else been having trouble getting paid by DigitalRiver/MyCommerce? I’ve always had good service from them, but something changed last summer when I got an email saying “some” people were getting paid earlier than the time stipulated in the terms. I always got paid by the 15th of the month after my sales or a few days afterwards, but to date I haven’t been paid a cent for June, July, and August. I brought it up to them in their new ServicNow interface and they said they would take it up with management. I’m about to take it up with a lawyer in a class action suit if i don’t hear back soon! Frustrating!

MyCommerce changed a few things:

  • They kicked out smaller vendors.
  • They added a $100/month fee
  • They changed to report sales on the end of month instead of 8th as before.
  • And they pay another 30 days later instead of the 15th.

You may notice, that I am disappointed with their service.

Well i don’t recall agreeing to those terms. This is completely unacceptable.

I got an email “Important Information Regarding Your Payment” from 20th August.
Maybe it got lost in your mail account?

I got one August 15th, but it never mentioned they’d take a $100 fee!

4.) What can I do to limit future fees?

  • Individual site owners can already make adjustments today, setting triggers for when payments are processed to limit fee exposure by grouping payments together at a higher threshold. If you would prefer to limit fees, please adjust your settings in your Administration Interface.

Look for the email “Important MyCommerce Update: Changes to Our Master Services Agreement Effective October 16, 2024”.

They charge fee for sending money, so you may increase the minimum amount to do less payments per year and save on the fee.

I see $15, but not $100. I got it on Sept. 16th.

  1. Bank transfer/payment method fee adjustments: The changes in bank transfer fees, including updates to the payment minimum thresholds, provide clarity and predictability in transaction costs. The free monthly transfer could result in significant savings for businesses making frequent transactions.
  • Wire transfer within SEPA, ACH: minimum payment of 2,500 USD; no fee
  • Checks: minimum payment of 2,500 USD; 15 USD fee
  • Wire transfer outside SEPA: minimum payment of 10,000 USD; 15 USD fee
  • PayPal: minimum payment of 2,500 USD; 15 USD fee

I see now my July statement says:
“The total balance of USD [XXX.xx] will be paid to you in 14 days.”

and the August statement which I just got recently says:
“The total balance of USD [XXX.xx] will be paid as per the terms in your contract.”

I changed to PayPro from FastSpring about a year ago, due to similar unilateral changes to T&C
So far I am quite happy… managed to do everything I needed to do.
I get paid twice a month, and never feel that money has mysteriously gone missing.

The platform fee is listed somewhere in the T&C.

I will have to look for the T&C. I was considering FastSpring but maybe not if others are having issues with them as well.

FastSpring works fine for me. And pays every 15th here just fine.

MyCommerce has an Euro balance.

FastSpring has the disadvantage that they convert everything to USD first. So a sale in Euro zone would be converted from Euro to USD and later back to Euro for my payout. Double the exchange fee! So only good for sales in USD.

USD is fine for me.

Fastspring has kicked out smaller vendors by having a 150$ “verification fee” which basically does nothing. Support is slow. I have had at least a dozen users who were only able to buy after their email addresses have been whitelisted. NOT RECOMMENDED at all.

I want to switch to PayPro Global.

I never got the verification fee in the past 10 years.
Maybe it is easier to verify if you have a company.

It’s a tactic to make smaller vendors go away. I didn’t get the verification fee, either.

Nor me. But I did get hit with the verification process after being a (good) customer of theirs for 20 years.
The ‘process’ used a certifiably stupid AI system which refused to believe that my passport photo looked like me, and had no option to speak to a human.

I completed their ShuftiPro verification, but haven’t heard of any fees yet. I’d be about the smallest vendor they’d have if that’s possible. :upside_down_face:
I did think their user interface wasn’t too hard to figure out.

Looks like there are a LOT of people being affected by this.
