i think the startup problem is with yosemite and not maverick
I can confirm it definitely happens with Mavericks. Thats all I use here.

It didn’t work for me.
if you are using the terminal command, make sure u run the command on the “/Library/LaunchDaemons” and not on the root folder
I am not near that server right now, but if I remember right, there was no wheel group showing up and no way set privileges accordingly. But I found a workaround and hope that this problem will be solved with 5.0
i wasn’t able to set it from the property sheet either… have to use the terminal command
Does anyone know some alternative for a small SQLite Server?
Brad pulled Studio Stable off the market. Valentina will soon add 10 free connections to a SQLite server. I am confident SQLabs will pull through. Maybe you can ask them for a recent beta.
Hello guys,
cubeSQL version 5 is finally available:

Thanks a lot for your patience.
Best regards.

Awesome upgrades!

Too bad there is nothing for new customers…
Not following what you mean? 5.0 has a ton of new stuff compared to 4.5.
I was referring to you comment about ‘Awesome Upgrades’ - no intro offers for new customer
Right now there is no competition for Cube. I’ve checked 4 other options. All 4 abandoned. Cube still ahead as an “SQLite Server”.
Well I certainly like the look of it, I’ve still to do any serious testing to see if it will hold up for what I have in mind… At the moment I really favour Postgres
If I do the install, me too. But I am looking for a option to send along with apps that can be installed silently, or in a push of a button, and my apps find it easily in the network, and use it. I even asked a way of checking the number of used/available licenses in the server, so apps can identify and suggest to the final user the buying extra seat licenses as necessary. Maybe a special JSON request? Never received a reply about it.
Valentina Server /5 ("slash 5) is free for non-profits, academic use and internal use / evaluation by you.
To deploy the free 5 connection version to customers you need VDN which is $599 per year ($360 renewal)
I did install and manually startup cubeSQLServer 5. On first sight everything seems running as before.
However CubeSQLServer 5 does not autostart on my Yosemite Developer Mac.
So I made an app from the included cubeSQLStart AppleScript and codesigned it.
Then I tried to create a new users daemon with help of lingon app. Now that startup script app is supposed to run at system startup with root privileges. This failed (“Service could not initialize”)
Then I tried to add the cubeSQLStart app to my Login Items. This used to work in the past with 4.5, but now I must retype the password each time and the confirm incoming connections.
I am a bit disappointed that after all this time this issue could still not be solved. This really increases my impression that they are all busy with their fancy new compiler thingy, instead of giving some love to cube.
And:
I got autostartup finally working:
Now I followed one more time the procedure described in the cubeSQL blog:
http://www.sqlabs.com/blog/2014/10/cubesql-4-5-and-yosemite/
As Richard suggested, I now used the terminal command.
Now I will have to test that installation procedure on clean Yosemite installs. If one really has to go through this workaround in order to make cubeSQL autostart, then this server is no longer an option for my targeted clients : they will not buy it, if they have to go to the terminal.
Totally simple and working install : this is a must. Otherwise there are plenty of other database server options out there.
