COVID update

For those of you who have been on the Xojo hangouts, you will know that I got seriously nailed by COVID which turned into long-haul COVID.

Welp. Things just got worse. Way worse. I decided to bite the bullet and get the vaccine. Didn’t think anything was going to happen bc all of my coworkers and boss got it and were fine.

Two days afterwards, at work, I found that I was unable to focus on anything, could not walk straight, and (gasp!) could not talk or keep my eyes open for longer than a few minutes. Plus, my reaction time to conversation was waaaaaay slow. I had to go into Acute Care (my health plan’s version of an ER with full testing capacity including MRI machines). Immediately.

I worked overnights so driving home was perilous but there was literally zero traffic for the 17-mile journey including highways, so reaction times were not of issue for that.

MRI found a brain bleed that appeared to be old BUT I had an MRI from COVID related brain fog back in January that showed zero physical brain damage, so this was definitely new.

Neurologist tested me in-office and then I saw his notes… indicating that I was a severe enough fall risk that he did not perform some of the tests, because I had zero balance on my right side.

They are following up with more testing and one of my clinicians has asked me for the okay to list me as “allergic” to the vaccine, and insisted that I need to file a report in VAERS.

I am now on medical leave from work for the third week and may have to find a sit-down job as I am still having a very hard time walking. I also may have to pre-emptively isolate as much as possible due to me only having one vaccine shot.

The GOOD news is that a job opening has appeared to surface right as this was going down, and I may end up coding a case management system for a new in-house law firm for an organization. I am praying so hard to get approved. Prayers and well-wishes are accepted, as it appears that I may be unable to work my current job due to it being like crossfit for 10hrs a day.

This is also a big reason why I cannot renew my Xojo license, until I can gain a sit-down job, as I literally have had no money coming in the door for three weeks. My husband’s limited income is what is keeping us with a roof over our heads and food in the fridge.

For those who do pray, I am asking for prayers for my success in getting the green light to go to this new position ASAP and I am hoping this happens like NOW now.

Thank you for all your support. It has been a real struggle.

I woke up to discover that someone incredibly kind has paid for my license renewal.

Whoever it is, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I will absolutely pay this forward when I get the money, thank you from the bottom of my heart. :sob: :heavy_heart_exclamation: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: This brings a huge load of worry off my plate, and really renews my faith in humanity.

Thank you all for your prayers, light, and love.
