Avatar Icons

Glad to see that everyone is living up to the use real faces for avatar images.

The last time I posted a real face picture to this forum, another member insulted me and wished for me to have a “miserable death”.

Real face pics and real names have utterly failed to achieve the stated goals for requiring them in the first place.

They’re not required. Geoff asked nicely.

Someone said “The mother of stupid people is always pregnant”, but this shouldn’t prevent you to show your real name and face, if this is what you want. I am for having a name and a face, it helps in a virtual community to better identify each other, however I’m also for freedom of choice, so everyone should do what he thinks is right for him.

Uhh, note that I preceded my off-handed comment with … nothing serious to be discussed. Personally, I like seeing folks. However, anything - even a slathering Zergling - would be better than the default geometric patterns generated by Garavatar :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and I actually like Brad’s dog. Bet that’s a great greeting when you get home.

Times 5 this week… 2 boxers, 2 pits, and a Jack Russel (temporary).

Hmm, the Jack Russell is the Boxers’ chew toy?

Richard Summers has one now!

I personally, like to see who I am taking to - it makes it seem friendlier.
I always picture people in my head, but the image I have never looks like their photo

Exactly!

“Letter from America”.

I’m just plain too ugly. I stay in my cave and never walk in front of a camera on rare occasions I come out of it. Arf arf!

That, and I will simply not create an account on Gravatar.

Syed - what does that link have to do with Avatars???

The reason I don’t have a pic is purly that I don’t want a gravatar account. If I could post my pic directly on my xojo profile I would.

I eventually succumbed :frowning:
You do realise that you can have a different gravatar for each site (so long as you use a different email address).

Did you post it on the charity forum?
Would be nice to actually see the real person

Louis - I f I can have my ugly face on here - so can you !

In the age of Internet, many messages have only one line of text so it is all too natural that we are losing the ability to read between the lines.

television or radio” ----> “‘real photograph avatar’ or ‘randomly generated graphic design avatar’”.

Unfortunately that is actually me in my Avatar :stuck_out_tongue:
