Xojo IDE Wish List: Code Area Must Have Its Own Window

I don’t know if this has been suggested before. How I wish the code area/space of the IDE has its own draggable and un/dockable window. It would be a great beneficial for a portrait monitor.

Here’s an example:

That’s Visual Foxpro, an archaic 32-bit application. Each window can be dragged and dropped or can be placed outside the IDE (dock/undock).

Obviously, you cannot do this with Xojo because the design area and the code area share the same space.

I agree.

In the meantime, have you tried using a “New Workspace”, under the Xojo File menu?

It’s not as ideal as you describe, but a workspace does give you more than one IDE view into the same project. Allowing for separate design and code views. Changes in one workspace are also immediately updated in the other.

Hope that helps.
