Hi @Gabriele_Marchionni

It would be helpful if you could mention what has changed, been fixed or if any new features were added since the last release.

Thank you very much :slightly_smiling_face:

All those cookies are a non-starter for me.

The website requires the acceptance of all cookies before the visitor can view or click on anything else. This would not be permitted in Germany.
I certainly won’t use such a website either.
Consideration for the protection of customer data is different…

It’s that kind of mentality that drives away business.

I always imagine myself entering a store and a guard first demanding information about my background, club memberships, and also that I agree to other stores being informed that I was there and what exactly I was doing. This way, other stores can decide whether I’m interested in their products, only to then be informed about those products without being asked.

I wouldn’t even consider visiting a store like that… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

@Sascha_S , that’s exactly the opposite of what you say.

This is simply a popup that warns you that the site uses cookies. And you can decide not to use them. And it is mandatory to show it by law in Italy, end in Europe.

Everyone (or almost everyone) uses Google Analytics, or Facebook or Twitter counters. And they will certainly use session variables whether it was designed in PHP or ASPX or something else, and these session variables are cookies.

You are simply warned about this. While other websites do not warn you, but they all use cookies or else the sites would not work.

However, I see that you use the Xojo forum which uses cookies like all websites, such as BasicApp. The Xojo website also uses cookies, did it not warn you? Here are some cookies used by Xojo website:

Have you really never seen the cookie usage warning pop-ups?

Oh, I forgot… These are the cookies of the basicapp.net website

The problem here, however, is the following popup.

In my humble opinion, the visitor must also have the option to view the site with only the cookies that are truly necessary for functionality…

The website must have a button “reject” for the cookies. That a website must have cookies to work is ridiculous.

I missed this one. It doesn’t work anymore.

I’ll add the button to “use only necessary” button. Currently the user can choose which ones to use and which not. But I see that that popup generates a lot of confusion. Will change it…

Hi @Beatrix_Willius these are the cookies used by your website mothsoftware.com. But you don’t warn the user that you’re using them. You just use them, the user is forced to use them.

This instead, is the notice from xojo.com:

But even if you reject, some cookies will be necessary because otherwise the user session like login would not work.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I’ll modify the popup to be similar to the one on xojo.com

Not that I’m trying to resurrect the discussion about site cookies, @Gabriele_Marchionni, but I’m wondering about my original question.

Thank you.
