XOJO 2024 R2 License Issue

Hi everyone,

I’m writing here to seek help regarding an issue I’m experiencing with Xojo. I’m currently using XOJO 2024 Release 2.1 on a Mac with the Sequoia 15.2 operating system. I have purchased a XOJO Lite Mac license, which is compatible with the R2 version.

The problem is that every time I start XOJO, my license is not saved. I have to manually enter it each time to be able to build my apps for Mac. This issue has only appeared recently; in the past, everything worked correctly.

I have tried reinstalling XOJO R2 and deleting the license path at ~/Library/Application Support/Xojo/, but without success. I’m not sure if the problem depends on my Mac, a specific configuration, or something else.

I have contacted XOJO support but have not yet received a response, probably because they are very busy.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem or can anyone provide some advice on how to solve this situation?

They are typically closed this week so you may need to wait a little bit for a response.

That said, let’s find out if Xojo got quarantined:

In a Terminal window type

ls -al@ /path/to/xojo/folder

Instead of typing the path, just drop the xojo folder onto the terminal window.

I’m the text that is returned, check to see if com.apple.quarantined is listed just after Xojo.app.

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your help and availability. I followed your instructions and there are no quarantine attributes for XOJO, everything is fine. As you mentioned, the XOJO team is not available at this time, so I will wait for their response and hope to resolve this annoying issue. Thanks again for your valuable help and have a great day.

When you say “manually enter” what do you mean?
You need to log in again to your account?
Go online and un-authorize your mac and refresh the license?

Hello AlbertoD

When I say manually, I mean that I do it through XOJO by clicking on the Xojo menu → License key (and then I insert the license file downloaded from my XOJO account). However, every time I close XOJO and reopen it, the license is no longer visible in the license keys window, so I have to repeat the process. I am logged into XOJO with my account.

Just a shot in the dark, but try to enter and inspect the list of allowed devices in the license management session of the Xojo website. Remove this mac from all licenses there, then run 2024R2, and log it in to get a license.

Refresh the license page online to see if is correctly linked now. If ok, close Xojo, and start over again, observe if it’s keeping it ok now.
