In one interpretation of the commercial, “1984” used the unnamed heroine to represent the coming of the Macintosh (indicated by her white tank top with a stylized line drawing of Apples Macintosh computer on it) as a means of saving humanity from “conformity”
Its ok, computer users, we APPLE know whats best for you… just took us a little longer to learn the lessons of Uncle Bill
Swift Playgrounds is not a development environment, so everyone still has to grok Xcode. So Xojo is still safe for now.
Does that mean that we finally get support in Xojo for the most modern language that is out there? See http://www.emojicode.org/docs/reference/ .
when I saw Siri talking on macOS I’ve had a deja-vue with knowledge-navigator…

If Siri is anything like Cortana on Windows, less than 10% of people use it…
I, like most developers, at one point (or more) in the coding process have a tendency to “talk to/argue with/swear at” the computer, the LAST thing I need is for it to start talking BACK!
Talking back, I can handle.
…but once it has access to my contacts, social media accounts, and banking info, then I’m a little worried.
My 4 year old came into my office earlier and I said “Hey sweetie”. My iPhone, which was sitting on my desk, lit up and Siri answered “Hello, darling”.
True story.
“differential privacy” - another buzzword to ease us?
Craig Federighi on ‘differential privacy’
Lullaby, and good night, in the skies stars are bright.
May the moon’s silvery beams bring you sweet dreams.
Close your eyes now and rest, may these hours be blessed.
I am always swearing at machines that “talk” at me - phone making messagey sounds ( always when you are in the loo ), microwave beeping “cooked! cooked!” Sharrup.
Way back we used to occasionally get recorded sales pitches on the phone. I would start the answering machine and let the two machines haggle a deal for me.
Damned truck
And Siri
Neither can distinguish my wife’s name from my cousins name so when I ask either one to call her they offer to call my cousin
ARG !!!

What on earth is that gibberish supposed to mean?

So tell Siri who your wife is. Then you can tell Siri to “call my wife”, “message my wife” etc.
That neither can distinguish “Trish” from “Rick” is simply frustrating
Lord knows what it will do if I try to call one of the other people I know named Trish or Rick & using hands free or “Hey Siri”
Updated my contact & added the entry for my spouse, since it doesn’t let you pick “wife” or “husband”, & then “Hey siri send my spouse a message” … I dont know who your spouse is
yeah … awesome
Your wifes name is “Rick”? (JUST KIDDING!!!)
Voice recognition, like handwriting recognition, has to be VERY accurate otherwise it drives people crazy
95% accuracy isn’t “close enough” oddly enough

You say “Hey Siri, my wife is Trish Palardy”.
Isn’t it Daimler which thinks that gestures in a car is a good idea?
I love “differential privacy”. Whatever that is.
differential privacy is a good name to let you understand what kind of analysis they do on your input (that’s different from the document analysis done by others)
