This is a bit delicate, so let’s explain:
- I am a totally hobby programmer and a (better) tropical fish hobbyist
- We have a yearly “fish market” where hobby breeders can sell the fish they breed
- The “market” itself does not make money, we organise and are volunteers (we do get a pizza, however

For that use, I’ve written a program in Xojo to manage the sellers sale. Over 15 years this program has been compiled for Linux (which is what I use) in 32 and 64 bit and for Mac (old MacOS 32 bit code, back in 2010). I did pay “lite” licenses a few times for this (one for Mac, one or two for Linux).
I am about to retire from this activity and the folks who will take over are Windows users.
Now, I’ve checked that my code runs in Xojo Windows. My “Fish club” might have paid a “lite” license, but they’re not going to pay $500 for that. I am not either as I don’t use Windows except for some Photo software.
So my questions are:
a) Would it be considered disloyal to Xojo, Inc. to ask someone with a valid Windows license for a onetime compilation?
b) If answer to a) is yes, ok, forget it, the Windows users will have to learn Linux or find another solution. If answer is no, would someone accept to do it (we can pay something too)? The program material is 7MB in total…
