wiringPI back online

Just in case you missed it:
wiringPI is active maintained again

I just compiled an old app (DHT22 Sensors for some dozen Raspberry 3 and 4 with bookworm) with Xojo2025r3.1 for arm32 and the precompiled lib (Version 3.x). Thankfully it compiled and ran out of the box.
64bit is also available.

Thats just one of the forks for it.

The guy who went in bad mood is still in bad mood and still gone as far as I know.

I have built between 50-100 drivers and programs using the newer gpiochip library at GitHub - eugenedakin/lgpio-GPIO: Wrapper uses the new C-language gpiochip functions for the Raspberry Pi .

I have hesitation’s to use the updated version of WiringPI, since there are no guarantees that updates will stop in the near-future.

Thanks for the update on WiringPI, and I will continue to use the current PI recommended gpiochip-based library.

If there is a client who says that I must use WiringPI, then I will use the library. Until then, I will continue on my current path.

Thanks again for the update

Reading the original developer’s rant about why he gave up, I wouldn’t expect this project to come back to life in a healthy or reliable way.
