What is a Certificate ?

IMHO, this is a siple way to really know who own the applicaton. Am I right ?

I mean: there are a simple proof that one can trace the developer, nothing else (a.k.a. a virus can be embedded in the Certified application).

If a code signed app is altered in any way, the certificate verification will fail. So its harder to crack an app.
