I recall it was possible to get in WIndow Design mode, the ID of each and every control on screen. That looked like this button:

It wwas then possible to modify - as we can do now - the IDs, but we see in real time the change. Can know nearly instantaneously if there is a duplicate ID (that is a bug) and change it.
Iq it possible to set two Controls with the same ID using the Text Format project ?
Yes, although what the IDE would do with that I don’t know.
When going from API1 to API2, the sometimes I ended up with control sets with IDs 6 and 7 instead of 0 and 1. Those I fixed by editing the text file.
Inspector, click in the other Tab and change the ID there. (the one with Gear, not the one with ID !)
Do you know about the feature I was talking about ?
Perhaps not then, but I’ll keep it in mind for API2 → API3
