Using an Apple IR Remote

I can pretty much hear the crickets chirping, but here goes…

Any ideas on how to detect and respond to an infrared Apple Remote? It would seem that it works with modern i[/i] Mac Minis that have an IR detector. A web search did not provide any info about this, but I suspect it will involve a mess of declares, or Monkeybread plugins, to pull it off.

Seems to dig into things a bit and implies the IR receiver is part of the USB system.

Thanks. It certainly does. I think it might give me the info I need to determine if I’m willing to go forward with this.
