I recently had to move from Ubuntu 18 to Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. This was a clean install of Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS (not an upgrade) and after spending several weeks reloading dozens of applications and settling into the new Ubuntu, I tried today to load one of my projects into Xojo 2021 Release 1.1 and I find that the IDE loads fine but when I try to run or analyze a project the IDE crashes. It simply goes away. No on-screen error messages are displayed.
But when I Run Xojo from a terminal window I see this:
root@wes-OptiPlex-7010:/xojo2021r1.1# ./Xojo
libocci.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directorySegmentation fault (core dumped)
The ālibocci.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryā happens when the IDE is loaded but hasnāt crashed yet.
The āSegmentation fault (core dumped)ā happens when I try to run or analyze the project.
William, I downloaded the latest version of Xojo and it appears to have fixed my issue. Unfortunately Iām now between a rock and a hard place. Either I cough up the money for an upgrade or I revert back to Ubuntu 18. Neither option is doable at this time. But I at least know that there is a path forward.
Martin, I purchased a Xojo Pro license because I have varied needs and project types. Iām a retired software developer who uses Xojo for my hobbyist pursuits now. I was hoping to use my Xojo Pro for as long as possible. I guess Iāve discovered how long āas long as possibleā is.
Iām having the same problem on a System76 laptop running pop_os. Everything worked perfectly for years. Now the IDE crashes and wonāt load projects. Have downloaded the new 2024 release. Same problem.
