We have been talking about different activities happening in Nashville during the time of our conference (concerts, festivals, etc.), but we haven’t made a list of the sites to see, so I’ll list off a few here and if you’ve got Nashville experience and want to share more please do! I’ve only been to Nashville once for a very large conference at the Gaylord Opryland, which is an incredible hotel, but didn’t get much time for sight-seeing…
Here are some things to see and do (in no particular order):
- Grand Ole Opry → Many country music legends have performed here like Dolly Parton.
- Country Music Hall of Fame - Buy tickets online to save time. This is very close to the Hyatt Centric Hotel.
- Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery
- The Johnny Cash Museum
- Nashville Parthenon → Yep, it’s known as the “Athens of the South” and they have a full scale replica! (If you know the Percy Jackson books - watch out for the Hydra, rumored to be inside)
- Lane Motor Museum → If you like cars, you’ll have a great time here!
- Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
- Schermerhorn Symphony Center
Lots more ideas of things to do here. This blog offers a weekend itinerary if you are planning to arrive a few days prior to the conference. It has a lot of great tips - such as, Nashville is known for its’s hot chicken but even the medium is extremely spicy.
As we are a month away I figure many of us are starting to think more about it. If you have recommendations please add them to this topic!
