taking the time to write a long, thoughtful answer to someone’s question and not getting so much as a “like”, let alone a “thanks”, in return.
sigh

Try to give your answers in RegEx?!
Sometimes I wonder if people bother to read the answers that other provide… I’ve seen numerous times where the same answer is provided by multiple people over the course of a few days… did they not notice they were duplicating the information?
Not necessarily. I just had that case where I opened a tab, started to write an answer, checked on some other websites, submitted my answer only to see that someone else (usual Michel) had already answered a few minutes before me. Obviously the automatic updates don’t work when you write an answer, or at least not every time.

Sometimes, it would be nice to have an “Un-Post” button
I noticed on several occasions people post, then disappear for quite a while, and come back after weeks or months, and say thank you.
Sorry.
I like when many folks reply as you may get answers coming from different directions.
Don’t be. Having an independent answer that confirms what was posted at about the same time carries much more weight than the simple voting that other sites offer.

I dont feel so alone any more
Saying “thank you” is free and cost nothing.
I have a rule, I just do not reply any more to people who do not say “thank you” and by that being rude. When we all do that those rude people are forced to say “thank you” or have to search for an answer elsewhere.
Personally, I appreciate very much people using their free time to help others. Be assured Kern, Michael, Norman and others, that your participation is very much appreciated by most people and myself. Believe me, true developers recognize your value which contribute to this community very much.
Keep up the good work!
Chris
Don’t worry about the person who asked. Think about the others who query the forum in the future, find their answer, and don’t ask the question again. I think @Tim Hare, who is one of the more helpful folks here (as is Kem and yes Norm too, and Michel, and …) mentioned how he lurked here learning for quite a while and then used answering questions as a means of learning, and/or, solidifying his skills in RB/Xojo.
I’ll scream THANK YOU on every post if it will keep you guys posting
Thanks to everyone who commiserated with, or at least tolerated, my rant. I feel better now.
The worst is when someone else answers the question, then the original post’er says thank you, then clicks their own thank you as the answer! {hasn’t happened to me, but I’ve observed it}.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who has ever taken the time to help me out.
This place is the best.
I cannot clic the “like” on the forum since 3-4 days ?

To enable the “Like” feature, click the like button
Damn, Albin beat me to it
Have you also tried turning your computer off, and then on again?
THANK YOU ALL !!!
Now I am sure I said thank you to everybody who helped me out with my, sometimes stupid, coding-problems in the last 2,5 years.
I hate somebody being forgotten.
Not joking, this forum is a very valuable place for everybody developing with Xojo.
