In code edit mode, I have to close the Properties pane (or Control Pane…) to have enough space to read my code…
And when I change the displayed method, the Properties pane comes back.
This is especially boring as I do that very often (really often).

Why not drag the panes to be as small as possible. Or use a cheap large(r) external monitor?

Good idea. I use a MacBook Pro… and I do not stay at home (McDonald’s and others).
I like to have very long lines of code, but even I need to place the underscores in at times to reduce the code length.
Other solutions: depending on your eyesight, to reduce the font size in the Settings. Maybe take Xojo fullscreen. Auto-hide the dock. Increase the Display resolution.
You problem looks like this bug reported long ago : #65724 .
maybe make the properties pane floating, so it appears behind your code?
