I started hosting my website with docs powered by MediaWiki (the same as Xojo’s system). How do I first get started? Any good learning resources? For example, I don’t understand how people create categories.
Thanks

Thanks. I will give it a go.
What is your website’s URL - curious to see what you have been doing
All I have done so far is installed it and I have just about no content up yet.
http://docs.powermodegames.com
I also have a blog hosted at;
http://blog.powermodegames.com
And I have a forum:
http://forum.powermodegames.com
My software is not yet available to the public despite there being a ‘download button’ on my site.

No blog, forum or wiki content yet. It is all work-in-progress.

Oliver nice work and you are on the right track!
Thanks. Sorry I did not see this comment until just now.
I’m really curious to what your up to
I was doing an editor suite for the Dagon Panoramic game engine that will be powering a game called Asylum, but they switched to Unity so what I was doing became a bit obsolete
Any pics of the IDE/games would be great to see… also if you need a tester, I was a beta tester for Dagon and the Flash Lassie/Shepherd game engines

Cool. You are welcome to beta test my program! I still got quite a bit to do and I have been busy with assignments for college.
I have now added some widgets so you can subscribe to my blog.
If you want updates visit http://blog.powermodegames.com.
From there you can subscribe via email and like my page.
I am currently working mostly on fixing and completing some stuff in general.
Thankyou for taking interest

You should take a look at Visionaire… that has a nice inbuilt almost idiot proof coding system, its quite a cool idea, then it can be expanded upon it with more advanced script
AGE by Seccia uses a flow chart/nodes views, yours looks a lot nicer however
I have checked them out. Visionaire Studio looks more geared towards adventure games. My program is kind of, an all-round 2D game making tool. A bit like Game Maker. I have started to develop my own programming language (which will not be ready for a while) which I have aimed at beginners but I also think it will be great for experienced coders.
For now though, I am just looking at getting the program released before I continue to develop the written scripting capabilities.
I couldn’t find any game development tools which I liked enough for me to use them which is why I developed PowerMode.
Thanks again
Yes a lot of game engines aren’t very flexible, I was a big supporter of Greg MacWilliam’s Lassie game engines, but these were focused on a Monkey Island 3 type UI … as in a verb disc which was virtually impossible to work around
I have tried doing a HOG type game with Xojo with some success and pondered doing some sort of IDE seeing as I never seen one yet

The reason why I built the app was to give people a fun way to put together a game and just program in general. At the moment, its capabilities I would say are fairly limited but I that should change in the future.
I have some cool ideas such as giving people a way to browse through assets on the web and with a single click of a link, they can import the assets into there project. That’s to work on once I get this program into a stable state.
Oliver:
get an eye here: MacOS Users Manual and learn how could be Apple Users Manual in the 'old time.
Then, compare with the “books” we have when buying a brand new Macintosh (I get one on the last week of the 2014 year !).
I even have an Apple II image that displays the inside of a Mouse (yes, the one with two wheels / one ball / one click button).
At last, I wrote / translate (end 80s / beg of 90s) books that explains Apple Computers (mainly Macintosh, but I started with Apple IIs): how to use them, common knowledge (like what a press on the shift key do while drawing a line), etc.
The main thing to recal - IMHO - is what do we do when I was a newbie ? Were the books useful ? (if no, build really useful book), etc.
HTH.
