Solution for very slow update in Windows explorer

Hello,

A known problem on Windows (10) is the sometimes very slow (minutes !) updating of the window of the built-in file explorer. Also can be seen when changing the header of the column to be sorted.

On YouTube there is a very simple fix, explained by Crown Geek. One has to create a new registry-entry (not a key but a string) in a specific location for FolderType, with entry NotSpecified.

This fully solves this problem, and the screen update in explorer is then almost instantaneously.

(I looked into this problem as one of my programs exhibited a similar problem on ONE of my computers; however that problem has not been solved yet by this fix).

long ago i had a bad image file (wrong header) and the thumbnail preview goes wrong or made the explorer hang that it have to restart this task.

tool for clean windows i used for years is Ashampoo WinOptimizer
