Sending a desktop program to someone

Sometimes I send a desktop program to a friend or relative. They do some testing. I used to use DropBox, but apparently DropBox now requires installing DropBox to receive the file. (One used to be able to send a link, and the recipient could simply retrieve it with that. I have not experienced this my self.)

Since email program often block the sending of apps or zipped files, what do other people use?

What I have seen is Dropbox pushing the installation of Dropbox but you can still download the file without installing Dropbox.

You can try Google Drive, MS Onedrive, or other ‘share files’ site by searching Google.

if you’re on a mac, you can use the maildrop, available with any imap account on macos mail.

I use Google drive. You could just create a sharable link.
