Selecting a small label control: avoid setting Text

In the IDE, when you click on a label, sometimes a little box comes up inviting you to provide the text for the label. When you first put the cursor over the label, a little pencil with a circle appears and if you click on the pencil then you get the little text entry box.

However, if the label is physically small, the little pencil circle appears over the small label and it becomes very difficult to avoid clicking on the little pencil and so it becomes hard to select the label with the cursor.

Is there a work-around this problem?

  1. Select it in the navigator
  2. Drag select to encompass it (good luck if its on a container of some type)
  3. Right click it and select Inspect “xyz” from the drop down.
