See you at XDC!

Looks like I will be able to make my first RB/Xojo conference! Looking forward to it.

Thanks Geoff, I have no doubt. I nearly exhibited at the NAB show a few years ago and it got real pricey very quickly. Even considered a Hotel Suite etc. The Hotels are very good at deals with the guests but for any business need, “crack open the wallet”.

I think if I can prove to the beloved I can make some money from Xojo before then, I stand a chance, but in the meantime, diapers and wipes

I will see you all in Vegas!

@Richard - Just so you are aware the hotel room rate we negotiated at the Monte Carlo is $65 per night. We have a mailing list set up for attendees and many used it last year to share transportation to/from the airport, etc. Also, we provide meals during the conference! So, there are some ways to cut costs if needed.

PS - BTW, in case you don’t know about this… We learned we could save a lot by getting diapers and wipes by subscribing on Amazon! They’d just show up at our door once a month and we’d be set!

Dana we have four of our own and Amazon has been saving us also

See you all in Vegas! Carol, Seth and myself have been chosen to do presentations and our other developer, Robert, will be there too (hopefully this year he’ll not crash his bike on the way home!).

XDC is my favorite time of the year. It’s a chance to renew acquaintances, see old friends, make some new ones, talk shop over a few (er, many) drinks, sell some product, and meet some new clients. Oh, and maybe learn a few new things.

Is Robert going to ride his bike to Vegas?

That’s the plan for now. Some of it depends on weather.

We were going to drive down but at that point in the year its so likely we’d have some monster snow storm on the way down that we’d have to bring my truck which would burn about the same $ in fuel as it would cost to fly

I shall revisit Amazon, last time we looked at that, Amazon Mums wasn’t adding users etc. Been a while.

Now, after that brief intermission…, I’m hoping as I love Vegas.

One reason I didn’t go last year is Orlando is a bore. I’ll def you all in Vegas!

*see you all

See, polar opposite for me. Orlando is a destination I could go to every year. Vegas I couldn’t care less about. Well that’s not true. I’m sure there are plenty of places in flyover states I couldn’t care less about.

I haven’t been to Vegas in years! The first time I went I had a blast (and made $67 in the penny slots!), so I’m really looking forward to going back with you all!

Vegas has lots of fun stuff besides gambling
The shark tank at Mandalay Bay is fun to go see
Tons of great shows all the time
Some really great & friendly street entertainers on the strip & fremont
Some of the architecture (while blantantly derivative of the originals) is still impressive
Not sure if the fountains will be going in March but there are some decent ones to go see
Great shopping malls for anyone who cares
Its not far to some really nice other attractions (the Hoover is an engineering feat in and of itself)

Oh , and lots of casinos are more than happy to run free “how to play” seminars which are fun to attend
The exotic car rental place is fun to go poke around in
The rides at the stratosphere & ny ny are pretty good

Las Vegas is surprising. I had never wanted to go because I thought it was all gambling and nothing else. What a surprise the place turned out to be with lots to do that doesn’t involve the casinos. We’re looking forward to going back.

no pool tables nearby :frowning:

Which is probably a good thing for all of us that are not you.

I promise to drink less so I shoot poorly ???
Hows that :stuck_out_tongue:

Last time in vegas, we drove to the old Ford in the north of the city (a museum). And we drove towards Hoover dam and did the helicopter fly around the dam. That was great!
On the strip you can really walk along and see a lot of things like people dressed in famous actors, see some shows like the Bellagio water springs and the pirates. For dining, don’t forget to collect some discount coupons. They are given away on the strip.
Also if you are from Europe, you may enjoy go an drive into the desert to learn about it. I found it fascinating as we have no desert in Europe.
And if you drive some miles to south west, you come to calico ghost town. Also a very nice place for a little bit wild west feeling: http://cms.sbcounty.gov/parks/Parks/CalicoGhostTown.aspx
