Very sad news. He will be missed and remembered.
Markus that is a fine idea. Maybe Dana can talk to Geoff to see about this?
I would presume that Xojo have his details.
Very sad news
RIP Amando
Another thing can be done:
put his name in 2016r2 About Screen as an hommage; something like This Xojo release is dedicated to the memory of our friend Amando Blascoe.
(a one shot only, since this is not really the place to do that).
This is horrible. I knew Amando personally and frequently chatted with him over twitter but a series of personal matters had made me not realise I hadn’t exchanged anything with him for a while.
I’m surprised and saddened I come to find until now. He will be missed.
I’m already seeing if we can set something up, will get back to you once I have info.

if anybody have information, please contact Dana[/quote]
I think we have some contact info for his family now.
I had the opportunity to know Amando personally and talk with him along all this past time about Xojo. He was always very helpful and kind with other Xojo users both on English as in Spanish.
Nevertheless, I never was aware about his family’s economical difficulties :-/
Sure all of us will miss him.
Javier

I’ve spoken with Amando a few years ago; He was very social, had major interest in Xojo, developement, web and games.
He was really kind all the way, never an argument and really open minded.
Perhaps we could donate some to his family @Markus Winter suggested. I could try to contact his family perhaps.
RIP
Life and death are something normal, I mean everyday people born and die. Nonetheless it’s always shocking when these facts touch ourselves so closely. It’s the time when we understand the importance if these facts.
I’ve never been in contact with Armando, though I’ve seen him often in this forum.
May he rest in peace, but my biggest wish goes to his family and friends. They sure need more wishes for finding the peace after a such big loss.
My condolences and wishes for a better future.
To keep everyone updated, we’ve reached out to Amando’s family and will keep this conversation updated when we hear back from them on how the Xojo community can help.
Very, very sad…

We’ve put together a GoFundMe page for Amando’s family.
https://www.gofundme.com/amandoblasco
100% of funds raised will go to Amando’s father. If anyone has any questions about this feel free to contact me.
Edit: I’ve upped the fund goal because y’all are wonderful and we nearly reached the goal in less than an hour. I’ve sent the page to Amando’s family.
You might want to post a separate announcement regarding this worthy effort, Allysa … my concern is that people who don’t keep up with the “RIP Amando” entry will miss it. I’d love nothing more than to see the XOJO Community beat that goal by an order of magnitude.
I think you need to raise it again
