Dear Xojo Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I would like to report an inconvenience I encountered while using Jade (the AI assistant) in a Japanese language environment.
Issue: In Japanese input (IME), the Enter key is used to confirm/finalize kanji and kana conversions. However, since the Enter key is assigned to “Send Message” in the Jade chat interface, the message is sent simultaneously when the user confirms the Japanese text conversion.
Suggested Improvements:
-
Disable the Enter key for sending messages while IME input is being confirmed
-
Alternatively, provide an option to switch behavior so that Shift + Enter sends the message and Enter inserts a new line
-
Alternatively, add a setting where only clicking the Send button submits the message
Scope of Impact: This issue affects all users who rely on IME input, including those typing in Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and other languages that require IME-based input methods.
Thank you very much for your consideration. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
