Quietly made its entry at the top of the roadmap

Well at #2, so almost: Why isn't Xojo IDE AI on the roadmap? - #36 by Emile_Schwarz

I think development environments can no longer be offered without AI access.
But I’m also sure that Xojo will make this integration optional, so no one is forced to use it.

I certainly hope so. I’m trying to avoid AI as much as I can but it seems inevitable.

Fundamentally, LLMs are a great achievement. Unfortunately, they have fallen into disrepute due to the way the training data is acquired and the labeling as artificial intelligence.

That’s why I can understand the skepticism. Objectively speaking, however, there’s no getting around LLMs these days. Those who don’t adapt to them will be left behind. Sad but true…

An LLM in itself can be a fantastic tool. An LLM that has been trained using, for example, publicly available Xojo documentation, Xojo forums, personal Xojo projects, and the like could be a helpful assistant. Certainly not as versatile and knowledgeable as one of today’s major LLMs, but helpful nonetheless.
