Programming Humor 3

Just meant to be funny, not an encouragement to ignore standards or guidelines.

I know, but as I know that some people will take that as some kind of approval for a mess, literally, and not as a funny thing, I presented the reality to them right away… and a lazy solution, “beautifiers”, one click, and its done.

I personally do that, write with no worries my mess, select and “beautify”.

If someone around here is taking coding tips from a thread labeled “Programming Humor 3” and in particular from a meme with Skeletor, I’m not sure I’d trust their code one way or another!

Please let me know who these people are as I’d love to start sending them “Coding Excellence with SpongeBob Squarepants” memes. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Capatilized keywords adds nothing to readability. Indentation does though.

You can infer them by yourself just observing. I don’t like your request, it’s not very polite to point fingers to people for no reason. My way is: give advice, explain things, let them choose their own directions.

C’mon. This is a humor thread. It’s meant to be farcical. If you really want to provide helpful advice or have a serious discussion, start a thread somewhere that’s obviously not meant to be taken lightheartedly. Let’s just have this one place where we don’t have to be serious. Please.

You’re absolutely right and I apologize for my levity on a thread such as this one.

I’m sincerely sorry and please accept my apology. I didn’t mean to offend or cause you any harm.

I’ll also keep my eyes peeled so that I can better find these folks in need of the proper guidance.

I’m not offended. But if you want it expressed… apologies accepted.

No need too, young man, they show up all the time, and we need to help them, when possible, when they show up, without the need for looking for them.

Different matter:

Can you make ends meet in tech?
**

Today, I want to talk to you about Bill Gates, a resourceful student who started his own company.

But before getting to the heart of the subject, I will name some of my guests in the coming weeks: Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Mark Zukerman to name a few.

Hello Bill, so was it easy or… less easy?

Conclusion of the hour discussion is that if you are not in that case, it is not the Market fault, not even the time you started that was not favorable. It is simply your fault. Found sometinh else and good luck…

This is irony.

I had a very rich friend, already passed away, not tech. He was very poor when child, but very smart, very human, a kind of philosopher. One of those days, chatting and drinking, he said something as “You know, Rick… Things could be different, I could be selling food in the back of my car today (as he did in the past) and I concluded that success depends in a good part on “luck”, and luck depends a lot of seeing opportunities, taking risks, and embracing the risk and work as soon it appears”. That said, life, luck, opportunities differs. Some people simply will never have a chance, and we need to accept that, and some people will have the opportunity and will not embrace it… At the end, life is made of work and building up our capacity waiting for some possible opportunity… and take a chance, if possible. It may appear, or not, just be prepared, in a way you won’t have regrets. People are different, Einstein or Feynman could never be an Elon Musk, for example, and both were far more intelligent, but not that “smart”. Just keep rowing and building up. Also, some people found their opportunities outside tech or whatever they were doing in the past. Cheer up.

Now back to “work”…
