Now that we are able to access picture metadata, I was hoping to be able to use the Orientation value in the metadata to be able to tell if my picture is landscape, portrait, etc. But no matter what I do, the Orientation value is always 1. If I rotate the picture, it’s 1. If I mirror the image, it’s 1. Seems like it’s pretty useless metadata value to have if it doesn’t do anything meaningful.
First I didn’t realize it was iOS only. But that still doesn’t change the fact that no matter how I rotate the image, the rotation value in the metadata is always 1.
Yes, you can tell if an image is landscape or portrait by looking at Width and Height. But you can’t tell if it’s upside down or rotated backwards. Now can you tell if it is mirrored.
First of all: Must you really complain about where I posted this? Yes, I posted in general as I stated, I didn’t realize this was an iOS only property. If I had, I would have posted it in the iOS channel. But I made a mistake. OK? No need to point it out.
