Phoneme and Punctuation for Speak Command

Hi Folks,

Has anyone put together a phoneme and punctuation guide for the Speak command? Does Apple have such a document?

For example:

Speak "say hello to the neighbors."

Is quite different from

Speak "say hello!, to the neighbors,"

Maybe https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/SpeechSynthesisProgrammingGuide/Introduction/Introduction.html ?

Interesting - when I searched the Developer docs this morning, nothing was found matching Phoneme. Now, when I enter the same search phrase, that doc turns up.

Was your keyboard turned on?

Now, the follow up question becomes - do those Apple dev syntax rules apply to the Xojo “Speak” class?

I would bet it will work just the same on Mac, since Xojo probably tapped into the native class. Windows and Linux are another story.

I’d expect they do BUT I’m not 100% sure
