I know “Standard” means different things to different people, and versions of operating systems are all obviously different. But I’m looking for a free, and more important, royalty free, set of icons that comply with Windows 10 UI guidelines to use in a commercial app, assuming such a thing exists. Stuff like the icon to open a color picker, or the standard text formatting icons - that kind of thing:

I can find lots of custom ones, but are there freely available files that are like the “official” ones for Windows apps? Or is Windows just the wild west and I use what I want?
I’m familiar with icons8.com - but those are custom. I’m looking for the standard, “official” icons - if such a thing exists. I’m more familiar with the Mac side of things, where things like the standard text formatting icons look the same across applications:
TextEdit:
Mail:

and so on. Is there not an equivalent for very commonly used icons in Windows?
It looks like this might be the answer, but I only write apps for macOS, so I wouldn’t be much help in actually utilizing them.
Thanks - that’s a handy font to have. It doesn’t exactly address what I need, but it seems, from about an hour of searching, that there is no standard set of icons, at least in color. For things like a color picker button, I would expect something with colors. I guess I’ll just make my own!
There is also the fluentui-emoji collection that is offered by Microsoft.
You could use the palette for a color picker.
one of the category on the sidebar is for windows 10
I am sure that you know:
Support status
Supported until October 14, 2025
Windows 10 even if the last (to date) version is from some days ago.
Yeah it doesn’t matter. This is software that will run on a Turnkey Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC system, which is supported until 2029. It’s not going to run on anything else, and I have no control over that. Eventually they’ll move to Windows 11, but not any time soon.
