It has been suggested that optimal battery life on the MacOS is achieved by maintaining the charge between 20 and 80 percent. The latest OS allows users to limit maximal charging between 80 and 100%, but doesn’t warn users when charge falls below 20%. I have written an app (Battery Companion) that does this and it is available on the Mac App Store for the cost of a cup of coffee. It can optionally remind the user using speech or display a message.

If I am right iOS27 and macOS27 does have a preference for this now. I did saw this in the latest beta.
