About App Wrapper Mini
App Wrapper Mini was designed and built to accomplish several goals. First to reduce the steps needed to prepare an Xojo application for the Mac App Store or for Gatekeeper. Secondly, to improve the speed of processing the application. Thirdly, for App Wrapper Mini to be fully Sandboxed, Retina ready and on the Mac App Store.

Once configured App Wrapper Mini will perform it’s tasks whenever an application is debugged or built within Xojo. Tasks can include the following.

  • Add in required Mac App Store properties to the built app’s plist file.
  • Add in additional plist entries either from a list of the most common used keys or custom keys.
  • Create a “Hybrid” Retina ready icon that also displays correctly on OS X 10.6.
  • Code sign the application.
  • Sandbox the application.
  • Insert Apple compatible help & index it if chosen.
  • Create a OS X Installer Package for submitting to the Mac App Store.

App Wrapper Mini includes a new Icon Editor, that can be used to preview ICNS files before being added to an application. It can create “Hybrid” ICNS files from most transparent image formats. It’s design also allows separate images to be used for different elements.

The design of App Wrapper Mini also aids developers with debugging Sandbox violations and potential Retina issues. Once configured, every time the application is debugged it can be Sandboxed and made Retina ready.

Pricing and Availability
App Wrapper Mini 1.1 is available today from the Mac App Store for the price of $9.99 USD (Before tax) per single user license.
