Occasional APPCRASH using office automation plugin

Hi there

I am using the office automation plugin to generate some test reports in ms word. The report is generated just fine, but as soon it is finished writing stuff to it my application hard crashes occasionally.

The event viewer shows:

Faulting application name: TESSA.exe, version: 1.0.0.758, time stamp: 0x55c393e8
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18939, time stamp: 0x55afd843
Exception code: 0xc0000374
Fault offset: 0x000ced0b
Faulting process id: 0x1944
Faulting application start time: 0x01d0ec72e14a0bde
Faulting application path: C:\Users\samudev\Desktop\TESSA\TESSA.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64
tdll.dll
Report Id: e9bdf296-5866-11e5-a671-0024d73d8378

The annoying thing is that it happens just occasionally.

Any advice?

Thx
Andy

I have used MS Word automation without a crash for many years. I didn’t recognise tessa.exe. exe as anything to do with Office, and Google shows it as something to do with adware, unless of course it’s the name of your app, if it is not your app. try disabling this and run again it may just be coincidence and unrelated to Word.

Hi Paul

Thx for the reply.
Yes Tessa.exe is the name of my application, sorry forgot to mention.

Seems the faulty module thing is fairly common. See
https://www.google.com/search?q=Faulting+module+path%3A+C%3A\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll+&oq=Faulting+module+path%3A+C%3A\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll+&gs_l=serp.3...30802.30802.0.32154.1.1.0.0.0.0.100.100.0j1.1.0....0...1c.1.64.serp..1.0.0.I-fJnzj7GcY

From the results I glanced at, it seems to affect all sorts of different applications, including Windows own Explorer.

This comment in one of the threads seems like an interesting lead :

[quote]Then, I found the opinion that Microsoft Customer Experience Program causes such issues, so I looked up how to disable it completely, using gpedit.msc and more.
Now my computer works perfectly!
