Based on the facts I exposed, I think that what I mocked up is what we can get, and I’m satisfied if we get it. The Logo was adjusted for consistency, those dislikeable dots removed, the label was flattened.
I’m not sure when a guess becomes a fact. Usually when Trump says it. I’m not overly bothered either way, I was only expressing an opinion, the same as you were.
Not guesses, evidences exposed.
As I said, I’m not bothered one way or the other. I’m off for 2 weeks in Botswana. The closest I’ll be to my laptop is about 13,000 km. I’ll likely break my record of 20,000 photos in two weeks.
So my take-away is:
It seems to me that most developers appreciate the modernized look and the adoption of WinUI elements, viewing it as a step forward in leveraging new framework features.
However, there’s also the obvious divergence in UI between platforms, which does complicate cross-platform development (which shouldn’t be Xojo’s goal).
From a marketing perspective the current design has quite some issues, not making the best first impression (which a splash screen kind of is).
Overall, while the initiative to modernize is welcomed, refining the design for consistency and clarity would enhance both user experience and make a better marketing impression.
