Movie Player working in Linux Mint but not Ubuntu

I wrote a simple test app to play a short video as a test. It works fine on Linux Mint, MacOS and Windows.

On Linux Mint, it plays the video just fine. On Ubuntu, the window displays the Movie Player but it’s just a black box with nothing playing in it. I’m not a linux expert, but I’m wondering if I need some plugin for Ubuntu.

Anyone see this and have a recommendation?

Is GStreamer installed and the necessary codecs. I think Mint installs more codecs than Ubuntu but I may be wrong.

Make sure you have all of the prerequisites installed on Ubuntu.

Thanks for the suggestions. After some google searches, I was able to install proper media extensions to make it work.
