When using the FolderItem you always get this error:
The error is pretty clear, could you show the code and what’s being passed into New FolderItem?
Just declare a FolderItem and link anything to it gives the crash.
FWW it is also happening in Xcode (var f: URL)
It is a known macOS26.4 latest beta bug. I expect it will be fixed in the next macOS beta.
So, while waiting for the next beta, no Xojo or XCode-based apps can access any files and folders… What a mess it should be! Does the OS even start?
That and a lot of other issues like no HFS+ support. Such obvious issues and still they released an almost unusable beta.
I did read Apple is going to release a new version in the coming hours/days.
Hopefully, yes.
While HFS+ support is important, being able to use apps that need access to files is mandatory.
With this bug (I’m deducing, since I haven’t installed the beta 4), one can’t even read a file in TextEdit nor use QuickLook. Worse, even the Finder and Dock will crash while it tries to display any item’s name or icon (i.e. logically crashing at start). Clearly, I don’t see how Apple didn’t notice a Finder that crashes repeatedly when the computer finishes starting…
