Macos Notarize Error?

Hi,

I have this weird notarize error
the signing process seems to be done correctly
I have setup the notarize panel with the app specific password and developer id
(the first day of receiving my certificate the notarize setup gave an error)

I only have my apple dev certificate 2 days ago, is there some time needed to have the notarize process working ?
all certificates have been downloaded from xcode into the macos keychain
if anyone knows what it comes from I would be very grateful !
thanks.

ps: anyway the error message seems not right ! @Javier_Menendez
I am connected to the internet …

Hi @Jean-Yves_Pochez

Did you entered your full Developer ID Application string there or just the Team ID?

That “Team ID” needs to match the one for the “Developer ID Application”

What string did you pasted / typed in to the Developer ID field? It needs to be the full string, for example (without the quotes):

“Developer ID Application: Francisco Javier Rodriguez Menendez (BW7PU32485)”

Also, confirm there is a saved password for it under Keychain Access > Passwords, as for example:

Other than that… it could be some transient error in the internet connection or the Notarization service at the Apple side? Have you tried again with the same error / results?

It also would help to know the Xojo version you are using, macOS version, etc.

just the team id as on your screen dump

yes “Developer ID Application: Jean-Yves… etc”

I have only one password saved in the keychain, the one with the dev id at the end.
I don’t have a keychain entry with …notarytool-xojo-password only at the end.

using macos 15 and xojo 2025r31

if I look at the xojo build app with the Apparency app it gives me this message:

Whoa whoa, wait a sec.

That thing you circled in the keychain screen shot is NOT a TeamID. That’s the Developer’s ID on that team.

FOUND THE SOLUTION !
you absolutely need the keychain entry

without the dev ID at the end of the account name
otherwise you get this weird error when building !

I made this keychain entry using command line

xcrun notarytool store-credentials "notarytool-xojo-password" --apple-id "<YOUR APPLE ID>" --team-id <YOUR DEV ID> --password <YOUR APP SPECIFIC PASSWORD>

and now xojo did the building-sign-notarize process without error.

Yep, @Greg_O I’m aware of that. The only one where the Developer ID (User Name) differs from the Team ID (Organizative Unit) is for the Apple Development certificate. Others do share it:

Good catch, @Jean-Yves_Pochez. Thank you so much for reporting it! :+1:

Yes of course you’re right. Sorry for the noise.

No problemo, Mr. @Greg_O !! :+1:

Much appreciated because, you know, sometimes is the other way around!! Please, keep commenting & contributing in the forum threads!!
