Can you tell me what setting the SDK in AppWrapper is actually doing? I’m using 2020r2 but my app still reports 10.16 as the system version. I don’t use toolbars, but I’m getting downward facing sliders instead of the pill sliders, suggesting that it really is running in 10.16 mode.
Looking at the Iconographer example: suppose I were to naively judge the extent of the title bar by looking at how much white space there is above the traffic lights and assuming it extends downwards the same amount. Could I then drag the window by click-hold-drag anywhere in the title bar? Looks to me like macOS 11 allows one to put buttons in the title bar and the problem with buttons is that they do stuff when you click on them. Apple has already broken this with Safari, but I’m not sure we should be encouraging them!
I still don’t know what the correct name for the chimera is: 10.16 or 11.00.
I’m not in Big Sur at the moment, so I can’t test.
If you knew what you were doing, you could put anything you want in the titlebar before. However with BS, they unified the toolbar and the titlebar, so the buttons I’d placed in the toolbar, are now in the titlebar.
There is an option to disable that if you don’t want it (as a developer).
BS.
Sigh… yes. That’s my favourite name. But we still need one number for the BS. At the beginning most news websites called BS 10.16. But now I only see 11.00. What comes after 10.16/11.00?
Apple have said it will be 11, 11.1, 11.2 etc. The 10.16 thing was a stopover I believe whilst they implemented some changes to how the version numbers were reported.
