First of all, I have to give thanks to Marco Hof for highlight the ListColumn Class
(and all its Properties
).
Secondly, as you may already understand, I discovered this from Marco question. A brand new “set of classes” related to Listbox ? (for me).
Then, I started to search in the documentation about ListColumn. Nothing found in my hard disk (for MinWidthActual
).
A quick Yahoo ! quest using:
site:documentation.xojo.com MinWidthActual
and I found what I searched. This seems to be added in Real Studio 2012, but even after a close search in the release notes (all I have), I found nothing.
The only place I found an occurence of ListColumn is here , the entry before the last one below See Also.
Now, I understan why I never saw it: I am capable to skip text at the top of the page, so a single entry near the page footer
Paul: please, can you do something to better highlight ListColumn ?
(In the main Listbox page, ColumnWidths, etc. so programmers will know about it).
I often display dates (as SQL Date: 10 characters wide), MinWidthActual
is a good addition *; I often have to resize the Listbox columns,ALL columns, to be able to see the whole date(s).
Marco: thanks a lot !
- Yes, I can make a search in the Headers and each Header string that holds the Date string will have to be resized at file launch time, then compute each entries of this column, then resize it accordingly to the wider value now I can skip the loop / compute cell contents in the column widths.
Time for me to have breakfast, my stomach is crying.
