While reading through some interesting Linux posts on this forum during the past few days, I was wondering if anyone completed Linux from Scratch?
Linux from Scratch is a project that shows you with step-by-step instructions how to build your own customized Linux system entirely from source. It really is a great way to learn about the inner workings of Linux.
I was trying to convince Paul at XDC to create XojoLinux. It’d be great to have a ‘LiveCD’ distro with Xojo preloaded for people to try out. They can install it permanent after taking it for a spin.
Here’d be my suggestions:
– Debian based distro
– Latest Xojo (obviously)
– SQLite tools
– Chrome, Firefox and other browsers loaded for Web Edition testing
---- Browsers can open with Xojo.com, the docs, and the forums in tabs by default.
– Big Xojo desktop background
– Thunderbird mail
– Filezilla
– Bluefish HTML Editor
– Anything else that would be handy for Xojo developers
– Minimal everything else to keep the distro small-ish.
Tracing family heritage in France was something my uncle (a priest with access to all sorts of records of births deaths & marriages) found VERY difficult to track back since so many records were destroyed during WW I and WWII. Even with the assistance of the local priests (who usually were the record keepers) there were just roadblocks when you get far enough back in history. So ours stops way back about 1650 just before my ancestors came to Canada in 1660 or so.
So while it seems plausible there IS a relationship its harder to prove based on what documents survive.
