About to purchase my first Xojo Desktop license, but have a Q: Can I install it on more than one device for development? i.e. my app is for Windows and macOS, so I need to debug on both platforms.
A desktop license allows two activations.
You will be able to activate it on both Windows and Mac platforms.
You can install and debug on as many devices, as you want. Only building needs a license.
perfect, thanks. i missed that page.
so i can install on 2, and if i ever rebuild or need to move it then i can remove an activation first.
If it’s just for debugging, you can also remote debug from your development computer to another one via network.
Yup, I move my licenses a lot because I either refresh my OS or try out new ones a lot they are very flexible if needed and thank goodness!
You can install Xojo in several machines, you can code in several machines, you can debug in several machines. No licenses needed to “create and test code and ideas”.
But… You can’t build standalone apps. For that you need to apply a “license activation” to your Xojo installation.
A Desktop license allows 2 active machines, you can activate any of two of your computers (or more if you own more licenses) and they will appear activated in the online Xojo license manager of your Xojo account HERE. There you can deactivate (AKA Deauthorize) any of those computers by clicking the “” near to it, and activate another computer from your Xojo IDE there from now on.
