I just wanted to give a shoutout and kudos to @Christian_Schmitz and @Stefanie_Juchmes at MonkeyBread Software for the perpetual support they provide the Xojo community.
They’re like a machine with extremely regular and solid updates to the MBS Plugins, not only pushing the envelope of what Xojo is capable of doing, but also providing TLC and bug fixes along the way. Every developer has to choose where they spend their time and resources, and from nearly the beginning of Xojo, MBS has consistently made Xojo more capable than it otherwise would be.
And as if that wasn’t enough, between the two of them, they’ve been regular contributors to xDev magazine over the years, sharing their knowledge and insights while helping readers become better developers along the way.
Of course, I’d be hugely amiss if I didn’t call out the phenomenal amount of work they and the rest of the MBS team have devoted to hosting the MBS Xojo Conference through the years. In many instances, that has definitely been the major Xojo conference to attend, not just for expanded learning, but also for making connections with other like-minded individuals. And with great generosity, MBS has always recorded the presentations and made the videos available to everyone for free.
Their contributions have significantly improved the Xojo community in so many ways, and I just wanted to thank them publicly for all they’ve done over the decades.
If anyone has an idea for a new feature for MBS Xojo Plugins, please email me or use feedback from on the website.
Yes, he rocks & helped XOJO to stay alive … at least until 2026,2027!
And perhaps MBS could make MBS OBJO plugins too .. Objo startet very well. For me as hobbiest I didn’t renew my 2024 XOJO because muuuuch to expensive now. I renewed 2 times MBS XOJO of course..
Hi Andreas. I’ve the same concerns about the updated costs of the Xojo license. What is your experience with Objo ?
Objo experience? Until now very good (for hobby programmer). IDE handling very similar to XOJO - but much faster response - even running OBJO unter Win11 in 8GB RAM VM under Mac OS Intel MacBook Pro 2016 16GB.
Startup of IDE, turnaround of Edit, Debug start, Compile Build is very fast - much faster than XOJO unter Mac Intel Mac OS. (even not loading MBS Plugins). Main reason for me to switch away from XOJO was new lic prized . for hobby programmer muuuuch to expensive.
OBJO has Desktop and Web builds - for Mac, Linux and Windows. No iOS no Android - I don’t need
OBJO doesn’t support x64 Intel MacOS for the IDE, only Mac Apple Silicon. But you can build x64 Intel Mac apps there (under Win VM). But if you have no Mac Apple Silicon you only can use OBJO in Win VM to build x64 Mac App but have to sign / notarise Mac Apps afterwards at the Intel Mac running Mac OS Intel.
What we see, in his Support Forum is, that the dev reaction after bugs reported is very fast & also the fix is fast if needed, For more information about OBJO I would ask, look there - https://forum.objo.dev I think its not allowed to discuss competition IDE here in XOJO forum.
Thanks for the feedback. I will have a look. About “I think its not allowed to discuss competition IDE…” I think this makes sense.
