Is MongoDB still a thing?

I have a question for the Xojo community… years ago I wrote a MongoDB driver for Xojo… partly out of curiosity and wanting to learn more about MongoDB, and partly because it was one of the biggest bandwagons at the time everyone wanted to jump onto.

Since then, I have never found a project where I could really fully apply my MongoDB knowledge, and was wonder… are there Xojo develops who are actively using and relying on MongoDB for their data solutions? And what was/is your impression of MongoDB?

Sure it is useful. I have a couple of clients using my MongoDB Plugin for Xojo.

MongoDB is great if you have a lo of people accessing it. With multiple database servers distributed over earth, you can connect to the next member of your cluster. You get automatically fallback to another one and they can synchronize automatically.

When I put on my MBA has and look at it from a business perspective, their equity-stock cycles, and recently are rallying upwards because they beat their earnings estimate (they forecasted their income, and made more money than what they expected). Their quarterly revenue was $638.3 million, so the business is going to be around for the long-term.

MongoDB (NASDAQ - MDB) has its strength in Cloud Data Platforms and AI-related workloads. This is where the demand is for the last few years with their database.

Didn’t realize they were actually a listed company. Definitely not a fly by night company then.
