Intel Galileo Gen 2

Will a Xojo console app built for Linux run on an Intel Galileo board running Linux Mint ( or another one )?
documentation.xojo.com/index.php/System_requirements

I think so, do you?

I suspect that the performance will be too poor for anything useful built with Xojo aside from a Hello World Console app (yes, that’s a challenge to prove me wrong  ).

[edit] further digging and checking on the Yocto and Arduino Linux builds provided implies that the needed library capabilities will also not be available even taking into account a 400MHz processor.

I have xojo console applications running on this device:
Educace

Have applications running serial communication and Brad Hutching’s StudioStable Database server.
Preformance is OK !

Vortex86EX 300MHz 32-bit x86
128MB DDR3
LAN
USB 2.0
Micro-SD

I’m planning to test the Galileo board also.
The Vortex CPU will only work with Xojo applications compiled with Xojo 2014R1.1 and older due to some “new” instuctions.
The Intel Galileo will not have this limitation.

Can’t wait for ARM support!
Hello Rasberry Pi and Beaglebone Black

Cool!
What OS? -Cold boot time?

Debian 5
Cold boot with ftp, web server, putty dhcp up running 27 sec

Correction:
Intel Galileo = i586
Vortex86EX = i686

The limited intuction set i mentioned will also aply to Galileo (i think)

From Xojo Support:
Current versions of Xojo require a CPU with SSEv1 support (Xojo before 2014R2 did not…)
All CPUs from AMD and Intel have supported this for many years. The CPU mentioned here does not…

I dont think they condisdered the Quark 1000 on the Intel Galileo Board.
