Tried to build a macOS app from my laptop…I am signed in, but when I want to build it wants to open the site ide.xojo.com for login again…dunno why…but Safari browser shows after few seconds that too many redirects happened…
I thought it was possible to build an app on another machine when told to deactivate existing machines and assign it to the new one…
If I would buy a second macOS Lite license, would that allow me to build on two machines automatically?
That is really weird behavior. Signing in to your Xojo account is supposed to be done within the IDE, you shouldn’t be getting a browser window.
I went to confirm the workflow in 2024r2.1 and weirdly the IDE did open a browser window when I tried to sign out. After closing the browser window, the process worked as I expected from within the IDE, so maybe just keep trying in the IDE?
You mentioned a Mac Lite license in the other thread, so you only get to activate your license on one machine for building.
Yes, but you can also sign in and out of your account to achieve the same effect. I’m not seeing the benefit to building on a second machine of the same type either, why not just build on your main Mac and transfer the build?
I remembered that it recently it would have done the deactivation and activation automatically from within IDE…but apparently something changed this week.
Ah no…not going to buy another license…still have a steep learning curve to do…but definitively having fun with it (o; Especially now discovering Canvas classes and mouse/paint events…makes you do almost everything
Regarding licensing…also wondering why the Desktop license though the Linux target is free now
In the past, when I needed to activate on an extra machine that exceeded my number of activations, I was able to purchase just an extra “activation” (for a modest fee) rather than a whole new license.
I don’t know if they still do that, but it’s worth sending an email to hello@xojo.com and asking what it costs to get an extra activation to your existing license.
