IDE attempts to connect to 226.34.56.76 and crashes when it's denied

Feedback Case Number: #73882 - IDE attempts to connect to 226.34.56.76 and crashes when it’s denied

When adding a remote debug target Xojo attempts to connect to the mysterious address 226.34.56.76. If you deny Xojo the connection, clicking the “Refresh” button causes Xojo to exit. No crash log is created, nor are there any messages in Console.app.

Googling this address is not turning up any hints as to what it is.

What is this address?
Why does it terminate the IDE?
Why is it baked into the executable? (it can be found with strings)

There is a video attached to the ticket.

Does anybody have any idea what’s going on?

I added a comment to the case. The IDE can’t do remote debugging unless that address is permitted.

Thank you for the explanation. Google hadn’t been able to help me. I tried pinging and traceroute, but it was whois that had the answer!

Although a nice goodbye message instead of the sulks would be a plus.
