I changed the icon in my App, and now it appears with a Black surround in the Dock, as if the icon is too small? Yet my icon appears larger than any other icon in the tray, so WHY have I suddenly got a Black surround?
Have you lost the transparency of your icons? Can you post a screenshot of the icon in the IDE?
It has happened to me several times, then I re-saved the png icon in Photoshop with 72 dpi, dragged it to Xojo and everything was ok.
Thank you for your reply.
I’ve not changed Transparency. I attach here a screen dump of icon in tray.
DONE!
Beatrix thank you for your help. I have reset the icon to a larger size again and it has worked as shown below. I reduced the icon because it was larger than any other App in my tray.
Did you drag you icon into the Images page of the Icon editor, rather than the Preview page? That would cause the Icon (drawn element) to be changed but not the Mask element. If you are dragging a transparent PNG file (or equivalent) make sure you are on the Preview tab before drag and drop the file.
Thanks Ian, I will test out how I did it and use your method. I’m working on other stuff just now.
That looks like the icon had a drop shadow around it and the shadow transparency got removed.
Greg, I don’t think I have a drop shadow… but maybe. What software do you use to create icons?
As I have some graphic arts experience, I use an app called Sketch.
Iconographer Mini has a BS app template that you can add your graphic too and it will create the shape for you at the correct size and with the Apple drop shadow.
If you have App Wrapper, Iconogrpaher Mini is included, otherwise, you can currently pick up Iconographer Mini from the App Store https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/iconographer-mini/id1541509510?mt=12
