I did not watch the video. But I am glad that I am retiring at the end of the year.
According to the statistics AI is accelerating the demand for software engineers, and is opening up a lot of new opportunities.
So there’s this – and I strongly believe this is just the tip of a very large iceberg. You should have zero disillusions by now: the rapid development of AI gives greedy CEOs and ruthless middle managers wet dreams of replacing all of those smelly, expensive humans with cloud-hosted algorithms.
Sounds like those guys are experienced AI experts, exactly what the next company needs. Also they are the consultants that King will need when inevitably something starts going wrong with the AI at King.
From what I have seen so far, it seems as AI can be useful for tasks with tightly controlled boundaries, for example building a module that does something specific, or optimizing a piece of code. Not so sure about how it would handle the bigger picture though. In my ongoing project, I would say that it would probably be useful for those smaller and time cosuming parts, but what makes my project stand out is more about how it interacts with the user, how it got quicker by eliminating unnecessary steps, streamlining the UI, and so on. In short, I think the concepts and ideas, may still an area where humans are better, whereas bread and butter programming tasks will be replaced by AI. On the other hand, we probably have no idea what lies in front of us with AI.
about involved with AI projects
you will learn the difference about managers ideas and the reality.
We do need more plumbers, HVAC, painters, and roofers. AI can’t displace those fields.
Robots.
AI+Robots will eventually augment every industry… even the construction industry.
Has anyone seen Elon Musk’s announcement about Grok 4. There is this exam called “Humanity’s Last Exam” which was set up by professors of all areas to be the most difficult exam possible. It has 2500 questions from many disciplines. No human will probably ever get more than 1% for this exam.
Grok 4 is the new reigning champion for this exam with a score of 25.4% (eventually AI will surpass the combined intellect of all humanity).
Although AI has not yet invented any new technology, Elon thinks we will see AI inventing new technologies in the coming 6 to 12 months.
For those interested, here is the link to Humanity’s Last Exam.
Definitely interesting times.
Elon’s predictions of the future have a history of being incredibly wrong.
He remains undaunted.
It is hard to take him seriously.
Given that the answers are probably ‘out there somewhere’ , and the knowledge that LLMs are ‘thieves’, I am surprised that the Grok score is not closer to 100%
I was going to say 'just knowing the answer isnt proof of being clever’, until I stopped and thought - so how DO you define it? After all, those who relish pub quizzes take pride in being the one who know the answers.
Right now, to me, the fragile line between AI and ‘life’ is starting to look like the one between ‘reactive’ and ‘proactive’
AI will answer questions and do what it is asked.
On the day it ‘decides’ that it wants to effect some change, in the way we may decide to mow the lawn or wear a blue shirt - that’s the day we might literally come to live or die as a species.
It’s called Skynet.![]()
The era when humans program is nearing its end within our group. Our aim is to have AI agents completely take over coding and programming. (Son, CEO, Softbank Group)

Checked your website.
If I ever succeed in working out what you will be selling, I want none of it.
I hope that Wolfgang just quoted the article and doesn’t work for Softbank. Son (the CEO) has gained and lost billions already. He also thinks he is Jesus and Yoda.
I may have quoted somewhat provocatively. Of course I’m not at Softbank and I certainly don’t hold that opinion. ![]()
Isn’t that company who buy ARM years ago ?

As long as you know how and when to use them, LLM’s can be a usefull tool. At the moment, I think that’s about it.
Yes in 2016 for around 23 billion British Pounds. In 2020, “arm” was to be sold to NVIDIA for 40 billion US Dollars. However, this was prevented in the USA, UK and the EU.
