With the new navigator I always find myself in needs for real visual landmarks or cue points. Actually, my eyes are getting lost because of a lack of obvious visual points of reference. I know there are the indentation, the arrows, the icons, but all these points of reference need a bit of time for the eye-brain duo to integrate and interpret them.
Another way to provide a first level of reference to the eye would be the use of alternate background color. Not the line by line alternate color, but more a per item alternate color. I’m sure this will provide a fastest way for the eye to now where to look to localize the information the developer is looking for.
Currently, the navigator doesn’t give this kind of information for the brain which is analyzing the eye input in an incremental way: The bigger details first, and then the smaller ones.
